A very pretty and unusual late 1970s, early 1980s Lanvin dress that is as well made as one would expect from a Lanvin. The base of the dress is gorgeous - a velvet applique dotted, metallic bronze silk, with a boned bodice that is fitted almost in the manner of a 19th century corset with light boning on all seams. The skirt has a bit of fullness to it with just a hint of curving in at the hemline. A long, attached sash drapes from it's start point at back and can be wrapped a variety of ways. There is also an extra tie of black velvet which I worked into where I tied the others. You could probably come up with a dozen ways to make these ties work - huge bows, dramatic shoulder drapes, looped sides - the possibilities are endless. The shoulders with their dramatic drape and loose sexy fit are the perfect finish to this wonderful little dress. Excellent condition
The dress is fully lined in black silky rayon and closes with a side painted metal zipper. It is lightly boned through the bodice. The matching fabric sash is attached, the velvet is not. Both can be wrapped and tied as you wish.
